  1. Hey, really lovely ideas you mentioned up there. I also love veganism and started a blog about it. People are confused about their food & other products, is it vegan? So I made a website where everyone can find that answer using a vegan ingredient checker. In my blog section, I also write about different food & other product brands like fashion and their vegan status. I think it’s a great option to make a vegan blog. Let me know what you think…

  2. It’s funny, but when I first decided to embrace veganism I wanted to make a difference. I guess many people think like this because you can’t believe how bad the animal agriculture system really is. I started a Facebook page about the pig industry because it seemed to me these were the worst treated of the animals we farm. Naively, I genuinely thought that as soon as people understood what was happening they’d choose to stop supporting it.

Long story short, no. They won’t.

I have huge respect for anyone who blogs or Youtubes and actually does make a difference, it sure seems hard to do. And for anyone who tries and finds that they aren’t achieving the cut-through that they’d like, I’d say it doesn’t matter *that* much. Every little bit helps and you really are doing something positive!

  3. Thanks so much for this article. I now feel more confident to start my own vegan recipe blog. Knowing that I can bring a unique perspective despite the field being quite saturated is quite encouraging.

Great inspiration Michael! Thankyou! I would also need a how-to-start instruction though. I am 55 and have never blogged 🙂 Any advice?

    1. Hi Anna! Good on you for wanting to start a blog. I recommend you follow this guide to get up and running. It will be a learning curve, but you don’t need to know any code, and you’ll feel very satisfied.

  5. Hi Michael, I just wanted to drop a line after reading this great post about how to start a vegan blog. I love the way your enthusiasm to share a plant based lifestyle with the world shines through. I started my blog (https://loveveganliving.com) earlier this year and it is still evolving. When I read this post, apart from enjoying it across the board, I was particularly thrilled to read your suggestion of creating a vegan art blog. I’m an artist but hadn’t though of including my art in my vegan blog, although funnily enough and in pure synchronicity, yesterday I was wondering about how to do something with my art, and now today I come across this! Your post has definitely got me thinking (even if I’m not sure what the result will be in the end), so I just wanted to say thank you!
    Wishing you all the best,
    Soraya from Love Vegan Living

    1. Hi Soraya, I’m grateful you got some inspiration from this post. And kudos for starting your blog earlier this year. I’m intrigued to see how you’ll go about incorporating your passion for art with veganism. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I love this article. I’ve just started blogging after being vegan for almost 10 years and being a personal trainer for about 5 years. I really enjoyed your article. Thank you for posting it there are so many types of vegan niches that I didn’t even think about!

Sorry Ashlynne, we only just saw your comment. It’s cool to see how you’ve combined your experiences in both veganism and fitness on your blog. Keep on posting! Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  7. Hi Maša and Michael,
I stumbled across your blog a few weeks ago after googling “vegan minimalism” (two of my interests, and topics I’ve always felt go hand-in-hand).
Since then, I’ve been steadily devouring your content!
I love your style of writing, comprehensive articles, clean website design and beautiful photography.
This post particularly resonated with me, as I’ve been contemplating starting a website (as my own form of activism) for a while.
Number seven (vegan nutrition blog) particularly caught my eye, as I feel like there’s a lack of content (and a lot of misinformation) in this space.
Thanks so much for the inspiration!

    1. Hi Rach, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the content and align with both philosophies 🙂 Yeah there’s undoubtedly an opportunity with vegan nutrition, especially content that’s incredibly well referenced. I hope that you at least dabble as there’s so much to gain.
Thanks again for your kind words! Michael

  8. Thank you for this wonderful article, I have read it many times over as I look for inspiration for my own blog. I look to other vegan bloggers and admire yours and so many others.

  9. I found this post while actually researching information about starting a blog. I am 60 and want to reach the “mature” audience that would benefit from learning about a WFPB lifestyle. I want to share information about health, diet, ethics/compassion, environmental impact, and so much more. I am alarmed that so many people in my generation are oblivious to the consequences of what they eat and how that’s dictating their health as they age. Or how animal product consumption impacts the environment. I feel compelled to share information and hopefully improve the quality of life for whomever I can reach. I am also an artist, but I hadn’t considered integrating my art in my blog. Thank you for that suggestion. I’m going to have to do some brainstorming now!

    1. Hi Gayle, I’m so glad you stumbled across our post! I love the idea of going after that audience, and with the addition of art, it sounds like you have potential there. Good luck with your brainstorming and feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions about getting started 🙂

  10. Hey 🙂
Loved reading this post! I’m also a minimalist vegan & your blog totally resonates with me.
Another blogging option could be “Vegan DIYs” as I’m sure there would be a lot of minimalist vegans who would prefer to make their own personal care/home care products using natural ingredients. I myself have a recipe + DIY blog but haven’t been that serious about blogging for a while. Your posts inspire me to start working on my blog with more passion ? thank you!!!

    1. Oh, what a great idea! Thanks for sharing, and thank you for being so selfless with your blog. Keep on going!
