  1. I would love to learn more about the circular economy, it really intrigues me. I have never heard of it before and now I’m interested to know more about it. I want to leave this planet in a much better place than it’s in right now and if circular economy can do the trick I’m all for it.

  2. I like the article but I do have one criticism – although my intention is a positive one (well, I think it is).

To talk about Apple and it’s recycling scheme without mentioning Fairphone is a bit unfortunate but maybe you are genuinely unaware of the company. As far as I know, Fairphone is the only ethical phone producer and have been recycling their phones and using a trade-in system since their inception.

They source components from sources with sustainability, welfare and human rights in mind. They have an extensive ethical policy and are the only smartphone company with a Fairtrade award. They make their phones so the user can repair them themselves wherever possible too.

They’re not perfect, but they’re working on it.
I have no affiliation with them apart from owning one of their phones.

    1. Hi Dan, fair point (no pun). I could’ve used many examples from more sustainable brands. Apple came to mind as an example that is ubiquitous for many. I heard about Fairphone a few years ago, but haven’t researched it much since. Thanks for highlighting the great work the company is doing. Perhaps I’ll write a post about sustainable phones/tech at some point.
